Our story
The Jungle Homestay and Resort began as our family home on the edge of the Sarhi buffer of Kanha National Park. Friends and wildlife lovers kept asking to stay with us, so we added comfortable rooms, a kitchen that cooks the way we eat at home, a garden pool and shaded sit-outs under the trees. Today we welcome families, couples, photographers and nature groups from across India, and we still greet every guest personally.
Kanha is one of India’s finest tiger reserves — a landscape of sal forest, bamboo groves and wide grassland meadows. It is the home of the hard-ground barasingha (swamp deer), the state animal of Madhya Pradesh, along with tiger, leopard, gaur, sloth bear, wild dog and more than 300 species of birds. Sarhi Gate opens into the quieter southern side of the park, which means fewer vehicles and a calmer safari experience.

Responsible stay
We keep noise low after dark, avoid single-use plastic where possible, employ local staff from nearby villages and encourage guests to follow park rules. Our aim is simple: help you enjoy the forest while leaving it as wild as you found it.
